Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Serendipity mobile application and the meetbyserendipity.com website. By creating an account or using Serendipity, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

1. Eligibility

• You must be at least 18 years old.
• You must be legally able to enter into a binding agreement.
• You must not have been previously banned from Serendipity.
• You may create only one account, and your account may be signed in on only one device at a time.

2. Verification

To keep the community real, we require identity verification: a live selfie matched against your profile photos and a one-time government ID check. You agree to provide accurate verification data and to present yourself truthfully in your profile. Accounts that fail or evade verification may be restricted or removed.

3. Your content and conduct

You are responsible for everything you post and send. You agree not to:

• Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity, age, or intentions
• Harass, threaten, defame, or abuse other members
• Post content that is illegal, sexually explicit, violent, or hateful
• Solicit money from other members, advertise, or spam
• Use Serendipity for any commercial or promotional purpose without our consent
• Share other members' private information or content outside the app
• Attempt to interfere with, reverse engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the service

You grant us a license to host and display the content you upload (such as profile photos) for the purpose of operating the service. You retain ownership of your content.

4. Safety

Use good judgment when meeting people. We verify identities, but we do not conduct criminal background checks and we are not responsible for the conduct of any member, online or offline. Use the in-app block and report tools to flag behavior that violates these Terms; reports are reviewed by our moderation team and may lead to warnings, suspension, or a ban.

5. Subscriptions and billing

• Serendipity offers paid tiers (Plus, Premium, VIP) billed weekly, monthly, or annually.
• Payments are processed by our payment gateway, Xendit. Prices are shown in the app before you pay.
• If you enable auto-renew, your plan renews automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel. Failed renewal charges are retried; if payment cannot be collected, your plan expires after a short grace period.
• You can cancel any time in the app. Cancelling stops future charges; your plan stays active until the end of the period already paid.
• Plan changes may take effect immediately (upgrades, with a prorated charge) or at the end of your current period (downgrades).
• Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable, including for unused time after cancellation or a ban for violating these Terms.
• Feature limits and entitlements per tier are described in the app and may evolve; features included in your active plan at purchase remain yours for that plan's duration.

6. Termination

You may delete your account at any time in the app settings. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, the law, or put other members at risk. If you believe a suspension or ban was a mistake, you may appeal through the app; appeals are reviewed by our moderation team.

7. Disclaimers

Serendipity is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not guarantee that you will find a match, that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that compatibility insights (Shio, zodiac, MBTI) are predictive of any relationship outcome — they are provided for guidance and entertainment.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Serendipity and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for the conduct of members on or off the service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.

9. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated Terms here and revise the "Last updated" date; for significant changes we will notify you in the app. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Indonesia. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of Indonesia, unless applicable law provides otherwise.
